Full-time instructors conduct research into “medieval and modern history from political, economic, and cultural perspectives,” “the political and economic history of the Bakumatsu period,” and “Showa society during and after World War II” in the Japanese History major; into “the history of the Tang and Song dynasties” and “the social and economic history of the Ming and Qing dynasties” in the Asian History major; into “American history” in the Western History major; and into “the history of the Neolithic period to the medieval period,” “the archeology of Eastern Asia,” and “the history of currency” in the Archeology major.
In addition, all program majors include courses taught by part-time experts on a variety of fields, from ancient times to the contemporary era.
