Graduate Schools
As recent years have brought pressure to specialize in a variety of domains as society becomes more sophisticated and diverse, graduate schools are expected to foster a spirit of true inquiry while improving practical specialization. Since its founding in 1965, Fukuoka University Graduate School has sought to enhance research and education in an effort to contribute to the development of society and culture. Today, the University encompasses ten graduate schools and thirty-four programs, including masters, doctoral, and professional degree programs.
The Graduate School is distinguished by dynamic multidisciplinary and integrated research carried out by faculty and students in a way that transcends the boundaries of its ten constituent schools. The Graduate School trains more advanced, specialized researchers and professionals by such means as developing curriculums that accommodate the changing times and introducing new research guidance methods. Some programs incorporate night classes with the goal of offering recurrent education to working adults, and they have won high praise for applying the results of those efforts to practical education and research.
Assistance for students includes a teaching assistant(TA) program in which students assist in the instruction of undergraduate students as well as unique grant-based scholarships and other scholarships specifically for international exchange students. Additionally, there are programs available to offset the cost of travel to present research at international conferences held overseas.
