Department of Applied Physics

The goal of physics is to observe and analyze various natural phenomena to find out the laws that exist in the natural world and understand the mechanism of nature.

The Department of Applied Physics fosters students' ability to understand natural phenomena from a broad perspective through the study of the field of physics, including mechanics, electromagnetics, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics, as well as other sciences that relate to space, materials, life, and other topics and their fields of applications.

The Department endows students with the ability to think logically, analyze problems, and explicate unknown phenomena and to utilize knowledge from a comprehensive perspective, as well as developing their solid characters, sociability, and international‐mindedness.

To that end, it offers an integrated, four‐year program of small‐group education with a curriculum that allows students to study a broad range of academic disciplines while learning about physics in a progressive manner that starts with the basics and advances to specialized areas.

Students can earn a license to teach science at the junior‐ and high‐school level or information at the high‐school level.
