School of Nursing

The School of Nursing is dedicated to training nursing professionals who can maintain and increase people's health, meet the needs of people living with illness, help them live the lives they wish to live, and otherwise contribute to regional and international society.

To that end, the School takes advantage of the University's characteristics as a general institution of higher learning to offer courses in which students can gain a broad-based education and learning as well as courses that help them achieve a multifaceted understanding of humankind, health, and the environment, which forms the very basis of nursing.

Additionally, the School offers practical learning in the field at locations such as the University Hospital so that students can gain practical nursing skills in a variety of settings.

Furthermore, it offers an elective public health nurse course as well as courses that help students earn a Class 1 Teacher of Special Education or Class 1 High School Teacher (Nursing) license so that they can prepare for a broad range of careers as nursing professionals.
