01.Admission Policy
The University welcomes a broad range of applicants from Japan and overseas who embrace its founding philosophy and educational and research philosophy and who intend to master research skills as well as other skills that will be required to pursue careers that demand a high degree of specialization.
- For master's programs, applicants who wish to master research skills in their area of study as well as other skills that will be required to pursue careers that demand a high level of specialization
- For doctoral programs, applicants who wish to conduct research in an autonomous manner as a researcher in their field of study and to master the research skills that will be required to work in a highly specialized job while pursuing an extensive level of learning that will serve as the foundation of understanding in that field
- For professional degree programs, applicants who wish to develop a deep level of learning so that they can perform work that requires a high degree of specialization along with an exceptional level of skill
02.Curriculum Policy
In keeping with the University's educational and research philosophy, the curriculum rests on several core elements: general education courses that are offered to all graduate students and specialized and other courses that are scheduled for each graduate school program (in the Law School, courses like "Basic Law" and "Foundations of Legal Practice"). In this way, the curriculum has been structured to reflect each graduate school and program's educational needs and research goals. In addition, all faculty members responsible for graduate education at the University provide support to help graduate students grow as individuals, including beyond their curricular work.
- Each graduate school will foster a broad perspective and solid character while conferring specialized knowledge through the general education, specialized, and other courses it offers.
- Specialized courses offered by graduate schools and programs will foster a deep level of learning so that graduates can accommodate progress and innovation in society while honing their specialized knowledge, research skills, and practical abilities.
- Graduate school curriculums will help students develop a tolerant spirit so that they can understand other cultures and work in an international context while fostering the ability to play key roles in their communities.
03.Diploma Policy
The University's graduate programs (master's, doctoral, and professional degree programs) evaluate students' performance rigorously and confer degrees upon those that are found to have completed the required coursework and demonstrated the following skills:
- The ability to solve new problems using the specialized knowledge, research skills, abilities, and attitudes they have mastered
- The ability to undertake the intellectual research and occupational activities needed to live and work in society by harnessing the advanced communication skills and logical thinking skills they have mastered
- The ability to act in concert with others while maintaining their own autonomy and to contribute to the development of both International society and their own communities through the advanced investigational skills they have mastered
