Department of Sports Science

The Department of Sports Science is dedicated to endowing students with knowledge in the field of sports medicine in an effort lo improve competitiveness and athletic ability and to prepare them to offer practical and logical instruction regarding sports in an appropriate manner.

To that end, the Department offers four courses designed to accommodate students' interests and post-graduation plans by systematically integrating the theory and practice of sports and exercise.

The Athlete/Coach course is for students who wish to improve their own competitive skills in an effort to become an athlete or coach, while the Athletic Trainer course is designed for those who wish to support athletes.

The PE Teacher course prepares students who wish to pass the Junior/Senior High School Health and PE Teacher Examination before graduating, while the Lifelong Sport Education course prepares students for a broad range of careers as sports coaches in regional society.

All reflect an effort to explore how sports science can accommodate a diverse range of social needs.
