Fukuoka University Hospital

The Faculty of Medicine was established in 1972, and the Hospital opened in August 1973. The Main Building opened in May 2024 after being rebuilt, and the hospital now encompasses a total of seven buildings, including the Central Building, West Annex, North Annex, Daycare Building, and Training Centers A and B. With a total of 771 patient beds, the Main Building serves as a full‐featured university hospital while striving to operate as a safe, patient‐friendly healthcare provider that offers comfort and tranquility. The facility has adopted a team approach to medical care that relies on diagnosis and treatment structures that transcend traditional boundaries, allowing its twenty‐four clinical departments, thirteen clinical divisions, and twenty clinical support teams to put into practice the hospital's philosophy of “Caring Medicine." It also works to accommodate requests from area medical institutions and emergency medical services.

Second and subsequent visits: 8:30 am to 3:00 pm
Other hours are available by appointment and for afternoon specialty outpatient visits.
Closed Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays (including substitute holidays)

An Advanced Treatment Hospital

The hospital strives to enhance and improve the services it offers by providing safe, high‐quality medical care and pursuing medical safety as an advanced treatment hospital that provides advanced medical care. It will continue to play its role as a core hospital by deepening collaboration with other medical institutions in the area. The hospital has announced the Fukuoka University Hospital Reform Plan, under which it's pursuing ongoing reforms in hospital administration, education and research, diagnosis and treatment, and finance and operations.

Contributing to Medicine in the Region

It's also focusing on strengthening the Community Health Care Center in order to enhance cooperative structures with other medical institutions in the area and bolster collaboration. In addition, it holds seminars on topics including health and cancer, medical seminars for healthcare providers, and lectures that are open to the public in order to provide medical information, to foster exchanges and study, and to help the people of the region maintain their health.
