Student Health Insurance Mutual Aid Union

This union was founded in October 1967 to offer healthcare benefits to students suffering from injury or disease and to provide preventive benefits to maintain and improve health in keeping with the philosophy of mutual aid for students (union members).

Personal Accident Insurance for Students Pursuing Education and Research

This program offers insurance benefits to students who suffer physical injury due to a sudden or unexpected accident in the course of their studies and research. The University pays all premiums.

Liability Insurance Coupled with “Gakkensai” (voluntary)

This program offers insurance benefits to students who sustain damages resulting from legal liability for causing injury or property damage during curricular activities, university events, extracurricular activities such as university-approved internships and volunteering, or travel to and from their institution, either in Japan or overseas.

*Non-approved internships attended by students on their own initiative are not covered.

*This insurance is available on a voluntary basis (where the student is responsible for paying the premiums). Interested students can apply using an automated certificate-issuing machine.

Comprehensive Student Insurance (voluntary)

This insurance program provides comprehensive coverage for student life twenty-four hours a day, both on- and off-campus, including for death or disability caused by an accident, medical treatment, support in the event of an emergency that affects the studentʼs ability to receive financial support from his or her family, and individual and renterʼs insurance. Coverage also extends to liability for bicycle accidents and incidents during part-time work and internships.
